Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go", is our class motto. My goal is to reach each student so they can reach all the places they want to go.

As I complete my twentieth year as a primary teacher,I am still amazed at the different levels in my classroom.

I have always worked in high poverty schools and enjoy the challenge. Reaching each student and motivating them to do their best is difficult to say the least. Typically, I will have a few reading at grade level, a few above grade level, and one or two that speak no English, and a few with some type of learning disability. I want to reach them all. I always feel like I'm leaving some of them out. This is why I want to focus on reaching all levels of my students.

My Project

I will read these e books and apply what I have learned in my classroom. The last thing my students need, is a substitute to teach them. I hate leaving them so this is the perfect compromise. I can read and learn about different levels of instruction as well as future professional development opportunities through this tablet.

After twenty years of teaching, I know I still have a lot to learn.

This project will teach me how to reach and challenge all my students from my non-english speaker to my gifted student.
