We are well into our school year with 23 energetic students. Our class consists of students from diverse ethnicities and financial backgrounds. Almost a third of the class have not had prior school experience and ELL (English Language Learners) with 2 with non-English speaking.

The reason I created this project is to provide an even playing field where learning will take place through art exploration using various types of art materials and styles which will challenge their imaginations and creative abilities and give them a different means to communicate.
My Project
Watercolors, daubers, cray pas and many other materials I wish for have disappeared from classrooms due to lack of funds. Unfortunately, many art supplies go to the wayside when budget time rolls around. Basic daily classroom educational needs supersedes the purchasing of art supplies. My desire is to use art as another means of learning and expressing ones self. Each child has different strengths, and I would use acrylic paints, scratch art, and construction paper to allow students to explore their artistic side. In the world of art, there should be no right and wrong, so I will use these materials to build their vocabulary, self confidence and explore and appreciate their diversities. The books ordered will also tie in a literacy and historic aspect into our art studies. Caddies & bins will help us to organize our wonderful materials. I can't wait to have our project fulfilled and allow the students to begin their art explorations.
