Our school is set in a suburban community, in a large metropolitan city. Even though it is in a large area, it feels like a small community, and sheltered from the bigger city.
We have a large population of students with deployed parents, as military housing sits adjacent to our school and in the surrounding area.
The students at our school come from a variety of backgrounds and ethnicities, and many students choose to come to our school from other neighborhoods.
Our school offers a challenging but rewarding program, with excellent, student-centered teachers. Our science lab serves all the children in our school, from TK through 5th grade, where students participate in hands-on science and engineering enrichment activities that help to prepare or encourage them to take on a science mindset and develop critical thinking skills.
My Project
My students are sponges for learning and exploring the world around them. What better way to learn than through play? The Bubble Bonanza kit will be used to explore the properties of matter using bubbles.
We are always looking for novel phenomenon to explore in our STEAM classroom, but sometimes exploring something seemingly simple opens up new doors in understanding.
Bubbles fit this description perfectly!
The EIE Bubble Bonanza: Engineering Bubble Wands kit will provide a fun way to explore a natural phenomenon. True to STEM learning, our scientists will then attempt to tweak bubble properties through design and engineering.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
