Help me give my students flexible and comfortable seating for our students to sit in small group settings. Flexible seating is an essential part in the classroom! These materials will help our students have that flexibility.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
“Teachers who love teaching, teach children to love learning.” My students come in everyday with a positive attitude ready to learn! I ensure a safe environment for all of my students. Students from all different cultures, families and learning styles come into my classroom, but together we are a working community. When you come into my classroom I make sure my students feel right at home. It is so rewarding to see the growth of your students socially, emotionally and academically.
My students teach me something new everyday.
Their innocence, curiosity and thoughtfulness makes teaching worthwhile.
My Project
We are requesting lap desks and stacking stools. Flexible seating allows my students to work productively and independently without disruption. Throughout the day students are able to sit where they want in the classroom during partner work and during their independent time.
Students feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment.
These stools will be used for our kidney table where we conduct guided reading lessons, mini lessons and conferences with students. The students also have free choice to use these seats in a different part of the classroom if they chose not to sit at their tables.
These lap desks will be a huge hit for our students because many of our work is center base. Which creates constant movement around the classroom. Students can put their pencils and materials in the holders while having the leisure of sitting on the floor.
