My Students
My school is a low-income school with over one third of all students being on free or reduced lunch. My group of students range from advanced STEM ability to resource and special education. They are hard-working, challenging, and diverse students who just need a little boost and a glimpse at a different world. Some of these students live in low-connectivity areas with varied access schedules.
My Project
"Sit down!" "Stop wiggling in your seat!" Many students have heard these dreaded commands. What if we had a classroom where it was okay for students to stand, wiggle, and wobble? What if our classroom encouraged it? What if it actually helped some students learn?
Special seating options will allow the most energetic students to focus, learn, and stay caught up with everyone else.
The wobble chairs help those students who just can't stop moving. The yoga ball chair fulfills that role as well as adds a fun, ergonomic seating option. The standing desks will allow students to get out of their chairs and keep not only their minds but their bodies active. I can't wait to offer all of these great seating options to some of my most energetic students. They're going to love it!
