My Students
My class consists of 32 beautiful and intelligent children who strive to be the best even though they are faced with many challenges. I work in Brighton Beach, New York. People might envy my children's living conditions, yet many of my students come from low-income homes.
I tell my students, "Once you're my student, you will always be my student." I strive to set the bar high for what their education should be worth.
As a first year teacher, I want them to know what they are worth.
My Project
My students love reading and won't stop. Unfortunately, as a first year teacher I do not have enough books or money to give my students books that will spark their interests.
The job of adults who care about reading is to move heaven and earth to put that book into a child's hands.
I included the series Who Was to provide them the opportunities to grow in which they deserve. Each child in my class will be able to read the series and go above their reading level.
As for my passionate readers, I included books that remind me of them. Each book was hand picked for my students and their interests.
