My Project
The Odyssey is a hallmark of classic literature. This graphic novel edition is true to the text while making it accessible to sixth graders. As a historian, kids need to understand the connection Greek mythology has had on not only the development of Greece, but on the world itself. This is not only a fun topic but one of cultural and historical significance. This edition helps bridge History and ELA. It will help them identify notions of loyalty, heroism, sacrifice, and the essence of humanity. My kids care about these topics and have been looking forward to the Greek unit all year. This would be a great opportunity for them to understand this important classic.
