The Nurses Office: A Safe Place

My Project

As the school nurse, my goal is to provide to most comforting and warm in environment for our students. The nurse’s office is a safe place for students to rest when they don’t feel well, or when life feels a little overwhelming. We often have kids who couldn’t eat breakfast, forgot a snack, or don’t have a lunch, and we love to provide them with nourishing snacks to fuel them for learning. For many, school is their happy place. Having sensory toys and books for mindfulness helps us create a positive atmosphere for students and gives them tools to work through day-to-day problems. We often come across growing changing bodies and students who need a little extra help. We are putting together hygiene kits for this reason and would like to add deodorant! Additionally, we are located in Alaska and have outdoor recess year-round. We always need more gloves to lend! We are so grateful for your time reading this and for considering a donation.
