My Students
My students are eager learners just waiting for the right tools to help them succeed. It will be a whole new type of schooling when we return to the classroom, the new normal. My students will be nervous and apprehensive. I teach at a Title I school which means that more than 40% of the students are a part of a low-income household. This means many of my students will not have their own supplies to bring to school. This is a dynamic that impacts student learning and what makes my job of providing a positive learning environment for children that more important.
My Project
My classroom is a place where my students will gain a love and understanding of number sense. Providing them with a strong understanding of basic math concepts are very important to me. Pictorial images will help them with this skill. It will also help them make life connections.
Students will have an opportunities to develop and practice skills in counting, addition, subtraction, base 10 and telling time.
