Help me give my students the the Raspberry Pi 4 kit which will have them learn how to code! Technology isn't seen around this area and this will be a new experience to code and create apps.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school serves about 230 students right in the middle of the South Bronx. Students come from different backgrounds, majority being Hispanic and African American. 100% of our students receive Free lunch and 30% of our students have special needs. Many of these students do not get the chance to use the advanced technology others do. With New advances in the world, children in boroughs like ours should deserve the chance to advance their skills and adapt to the new world of technology. Our students are getting used to the new changes and has been a worthwhile experience! They are eager to learn despite of the external challenges many of them face outside of school.
My Project
The raspberry pi 4 computer will allow the students in my school, who do not have full access to technology, further advance in the technological world. Students will learn different coding language programs and will create small apps from mini games to maybe one day an app seen in the google play store! Because of the background of the kids in our schools neighborhood, the lack of technological education is present. Many students do not have their own funding to technology such as computers or phones, and it is shown based on their responses to certain questions on the technological world.
During this COVID epidemic, remote learning has been the most used form of teaching which involves technology.
Many students have been having trouble during this transition and with the help of the raspberry pi, they will learn programming languages and will become more familiar with situations like this containing technology.
