I am a second grade teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I am in an early childhood center that ranges from PreK-2nd grade. I try very hard to make learning the best time of my students day. I want them to yearn to learn and leave me being life long learners. I value each and everyone of my students very much. I work so hard to find out what helps them to soar and thrive each and everyday. I want to make each lesson fun, motivating, and exciting. When they leave me at the end of the day the best thing to see is their bright smiles.
Please help me spark and illuminate new thinking in my classroom.
We currently have a smartboard that has been showing it's age. When I am in the middle of a lesson that my students are so eager to learn my pens will not write on the board, I have to calibrate constantly, images will not import to my board, and it freezes on us often, etc. I feel so terrible when this happens because it is taking the enjoyment and excitement out of their learning. They are all so cute when they say "The smartboard is not acting so smart today Mrs. Schroeck!"
The Samsung interactive pro display will take collaboration and empowerment to the next level, in my classroom. Knowing that this machine has up to 20 touch points at a time and no calibration needed will be amazing. My students can work together on displays to share knowledge, feel inspired and be creative. The powerful, responsive screens will let their bright ideas shine.
