Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in an urban, inner-city, at-risk school in New York. My school is a charter school that is striving to meet the needs of a neighborhood faced with tremendous challenges.
Currently, there is no established music program in place. Therefore, I am starting from scratch in every way. There is only a classroom and two computers.
I am striving to provide my students with supplemental, enriching technology-based opportunities within music recording, theory practice, and listening. With this basic equipment I am requesting, my students will have the chance to explore music in a variety of non-traditional ways.
Please consider helping! Music has the power to change these students forever. This can give them a sense of self-worth, means of expression, enthusiasm, and pride that is often lacking in schools in this situation. Please support our youth of today and our leaders of tomorrow!
