Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
During this time, all of my music students were sent home at a moment's notice, unable to retrieve or borrow music instruments and resources needed to continue their musical studies. So many of these students are stuck at home for the rest of the school year. That means those who are preparing to audition for high school next year will not have access to the resources they need. Without these resources, many of these students will be unable to continue at the next level.
My Project
Right now many of my students wish to continue their music learning while they study online. The issue they face is that they are unable to get a music instrument and I am unable to distribute them from the school as no one is allowed to enter at this time. The best answer I have for this issue is to continue study using ukuleles.
With these ukuleles I will be able to offer entry musical instrumental instruction to my students while they study at home.
Many students have asked to continue their studies, but without these resources, will not be able to. We need ways to create fun and engaging learning at home that breaks the monotony of online classes. This is one way to do that!
