Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year I am opening a first grade classroom! The classroom is limited in supplies but is in desperate need of a carpet for the 30 kids ready to begin learning on September 9th.
My students are eager learners.
The majority of the students come from low income families where English is their second language. A clean carpet will make them feel comfortable and allow them to enjoy being in the class. We will be using the carpet a lot for whole and small groups!
My Project
Students in this classroom will use the carpet a lot. We will sit on it during morning meeting. Having the individual squares allows the children their own space. We also use the carpet during small group activities like guided reading or math work.
Having a carpet in our room will make the classroom much more inviting to the students.
It will give them a comfortable feeling. The boxes on the carpet will be inviting for each students individual space.
