My Project
During the 2022-2023 school year, I will have the privilege of teaching a "small" class of kiddos who receive ESE (exceptional student education) services and/or have been retained in Grade 3 due to low standardized test scores.
My goal during this school year is to create a learning environment that empowers my students to take ownership of their learning experience, develops a love for learning, and builds a confidence within each learner.
In order to do this, I am kindly requesting assistance in purchasing color-coded folders and composition journals. This will enable students to keep their learning materials organized and easily accessible. Additionally, I am requesting a classroom rug. I know my students have many unique needs and providing them with flexible seating will be crucial to empowering them as they take ownership of their learning experience. Lastly, I am looking to obtain a yearly subscription to TIME for Kids News articles. TIME for Kids News articles are a weekly classroom magazine that motivates students to read. As half of my class was retained in Grade 3 due to low standardized test scores, I know that I need to develop this love of reading in order for my students to succeed this year and beyond.
