I have a diverse group of students. Their ability levels range in ability from students who struggle in school due to learning disabilities, to gifted. One common characteristic among all students is their enthusiasm for learning.
I work diligently to plan exemplary literacy lessons and activities that challenge the students, but also allow them to use their unique talents and abilities to showcase or demonstrate their depth of knowledge.
I want to motivate and inspire my students to become lifelong learners.
My Project
For reading teachers, the class library is the heart of the classroom! Students need access to a variety of books at differing levels to become proficient readers.
According to the Scholastic Book Company, a rich classroom library promotes greater amounts of reading, increased reading frequency, and more diverse reading experiences among their students, thus helping them to attain greater levels of reading achievement.
I diligently select books by the students' favorite authors, topics, or series. I want the class library to be filled with a plethora of books that cover a multitude of nonfiction topics in addition to samples of each type of fictional genre.
