I have a diverse group of students. Their ability levels range in ability from students who struggle in school, due to learning disabilities, to gifted. One common characteristic among all students is their enthusiasm for learning.
I work diligently to plan exemplary literacy lessons and activities that challenge the students, but also allow them to use their unique talents and abilities to showcase or demonstrate their depth of knowledge.
I want to motivate and inspire my students to become lifelong learners.
My Project
We are requesting books for our class library. The old, raggedy books have to go. No one wants to read a book that is literally falling apart. We are in need of nonfiction books about female historical figures.
New books motivate and inspire all students to want to read, even the struggling or reluctant readers.
As soon as the new books arrive, they are quickly claimed. I am requesting books from the "I Survived" series and replacing old favorites that have disappeared.
I've also ordered books on a variety of reading levels to address the needs of a diverse student population.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
