"Be the change you want to see in the world," Mahatma Gandhi said, and my students apply this quote in my classroom and dream big every day.
Our students are multicultural and live in a very high-poverty area.
Combining this with having special needs our students need every additional resource we can provide. Our students have multiple levels of disabilities and I want to provide them access to a library at their fingertips.
My Project
I am requesting a leveled student library for our special needs classroom and a rug for them to stop, drop and read. We have students with many different sensory needs having a library in our room would make the learning experience much more successful. Becoming fluent readers will increase their confidence and build the self-esteem needed to be successful students in all areas.
Reading is the building block of each of our students future.
By developing reading skills, students will be able to grow and have the tools to be become successful learners. Donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated to get our students reading!
