This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our self-contained autism students are wonderful students who benefit from multi-sensory learning paired with a highly structured learning environment. Our district is asking us to pilot a new program, and we are extremely excited to begin it. However, we need a few items in order to implement this successful change.
My Project
The materials we are looking to purchase through this project will help our students on the Autism spectrum begin to be more independent in their self-contained classrooms.
The students will each have individual bins with items that are highly motivating and tailored to their individual needs.
This will help improve classroom management and students ability to self-regulate and be more self-sufficient. While the items may not be able to go home, hopefully the skills we will be teaching will carry over into their homes for them to be more independent at home as well.
