Help me give my students the missing piece to get our 3D Printer working in tip top shape.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Bernstein's classroom raised $333

My Students
My students are part of the Academy of Information Technology, a four-year Information technology program. Students learn Introduction to Information Technology (Year 1), Digital Media (Year 2), Web Design (Year 3), and AP Computer Science Principles (Year 4).
We are a STEM/STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) school.
Currently, the Academy of IT has just under 200 students in grades 9 to 12. More than half of my students are from low-income households. My classroom infuses STEM/STEAM into the curriculum to allow students to have cross-curriculum instruction that incorporates their core subject areas.
My Project
My students love coming to class and getting to learn and play with technology.
Our 3D Printer, needs some tender love and care with a brand new Extruder.
My students love using TinkerCAD to create 3D Models and printing them. We got our idea for the 3D printer from the project for the IF/THEN campaign "3d Printer Needed for Community Service Project", and posted another project to get an additional 3D Printer in our classroom.
Using the instructional videos that are presented on the IF/THEN collection, students will learn what a 3D printer is and what other students in STEM are using their 3D printers to change the world.
The two resources that we will use from the IF/THEN collection are "Demystifying 3D Printing" and "Mission Unstoppable: If/Then 3D Statue Exhibit (4:32)"
With this extruder we will be able to get our MakerBot Replicator Mini+ working again without any glitches, or delays.3D Printer activities are great to showcase how 3D printing is used across STEM careers to solve problems. It is important to show students that STEM careers are in high demand and to promote diversity within the STEM field.
