Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am starting this project to update my classroom library and get updated reading materials for my most critical lessons. Some of these titles have been chosen because I know or have been told by my colleagues that students will enjoy them. Some of these titles I have chosen because I know their contents will help me instruct my students on specific required standards and learning goals.

Your contribution will bring much needed material updates to my inner-city school!

My school site experiences a great deal of absenteeism due to disruption in the lives of the students. Long form novels are often difficult for a student facing housing insecurity or other instability to get through. Short story collections and novellas like the ones I am requesting will make developing skills with reading and writing more accessible to the students I work with that need the most support.
