The Mind Cannot Forget What the Hands Have Learned
I need digital professional development to grow as an anatomy educator and to build a hands-on curriculum to enrich and strengthen the student knowledge.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Sambi's classroom raised $750
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The statement below expresses the goal of my Professional development.
"The mind cannot forget what the hands have learned."
This professional development on "anatomy with clay "will help me to enrich and strengthen student learning. This PD will teach me how to use Clay to engage the students in the hands on activities using clay on the human skeletal model.
All students will benefit from this. For example, visual learners will benefit from this because they can see the position of the ,for example, muscles on the model. Kinesthetic learners will also benefit from this as they needs hands on practice to learn concepts. Using the clay to learn the ginormous concepts about the human body will help the students to retain the concepts in their long term memory. This hands on practice will enrich, and strengthen their learning. Instead of just learning about the anatomical details of the body on paper, students will get to practice the location, structure and function of the organ systems.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
