My Project
This year, these manipulatives will allow students collaborative hands-on learning. With the recent decline in math skills and the learning loss due to Covid these items would help increase Number Sense with my students. It is so important for students to use manipulatives in order to see first hand how fractions, decimals, percentages, and place value work. Despite the diversity amongst students they still all have one thing in common and that's the fact that they would all benefit from hands-on learning.
Since our math series is about 12 years old the math manipulative bags that it came with have been depleted and used so much they are not valuable to our students currently.
The manipulatives I am asking for are sturdy, well-made products in order to be used over and over again by students. The manipulatives can be used across my 5th and 6th grade split this year and cover many of our standards being taught. With these manipulatives I know we can increase our Number Sense understanding amongst all students.
