This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In an effort to make learning fun and diverse, I include a unit teaching about dystopian societies using the fictional text The Maze Runner by James Dashner. Previously taught as a unit in summer school for the past two years, I learned that students in middle school are extremely intrigued and excited to learn about Thomas's adventures while also uncovering the secrets of a very corrupt government. Because funds are limited, I've only been able to give students hand outs of each chapter of the book, however I'd love to be able to have a class set for students. Please help me provide them with the physical copy of the text so that students may get an authentic reading experience for the unit.
