My Students
My sweet students come from a low economic back ground. They are lacking experiences. They need to have a special place to sit and learn to read. That is the most important thing they will ever do! They need materials and supplies they can touch and feel.
My students are our future.
They are a very diverse group. There are many students that cannot hold a pencil or write their names. While others know all of their letter names and sounds and can count to 100. Parents are so busy trying to put food in their child's mouth that their time to spend with their precious child is limited. My sweet children need to learn to read, count and feel loved. They deserve the basic tools a teacher needs to make learning fun.
My Project
My students need your help! They need hands on experiences to learn about the world they live in. They need a carpet with the alphabet on it to sit on. It will help them learn their alphabet and how important learning to read is. The carpet will also help organize students during whole group and small group time and transitions. They need a variety of math and literacy manipulatives and tools that foster reading, writing and math. They deserve a good education and the different manipulatives and tools from lakeshore will help to make that happen. The math and literacy manipulatives and tools will be used to increase engagement during small groups and center time. With increased engagement comes increased learning and success in reading and math.
