This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Pencils are a wonderful creation. They work their magic with my students as they write wonderful stories. Somehow though, they often disappear. I don't know how it happens, and neither do my 20 first graders! Hello, I am a teacher in south San Jose to 20 wonderful first graders. As the year is ending, we are running out of pencils! This happens year after year, we never seem to have quite enough pencils. Also, our pencil sharpener has seen its last days as it refuses to do its job. In this proposal, I am asking for just the very basic supplies: pencils, a pencil sharpener, composition books, and paper. I would like to order regular pencils and a pencil sharpener. This pencil sharper is a really good quality one that will save us time as it sharpens pencils very quickly. Also, since the magic pencil only works with paper, we will need some of that too! These materials will have a enormous impact for my students. I cannot believe how many pencils we go through and how much time goes into sharpening all those pencils. My students and I would be most grateful if this proposal was funded. Please help me give my students these essentials. Thank you.
