My Students
My students are excited, enthusiastic learners! They want to achieve and succeed. Nestled at the base of our local mountain, my students are exposed to countless opportunities for learning both inside and outside the classroom.
While currently distance learning, getting their hands on books and materials is most important to keep my students engaged and learning.
My students WANT and NEED to keep reading and learning as much as they possibly can, even though we are not physically in the classroom.
My Project
My 5th graders will remember this year forever! They are part of history, and their story will be told for generations to come! I am working hard to keep them engaged while learning at home. One of the best ways I can do that is through books. books, and more books! The more we read, the more we learn, and are able to have amazing discussions, reflections, and written activities about what we've read. Students are now pros at learning on Zoom, and I want to do everything I can to prepare them for middle school.
I am asking for a new class set of the novel Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis.
This Newberry Medal winner is one of the most recommended for students this age, and I want each student to have a copy in his or her hands. I am also asking for a giftcard to Teachers Pay Teachers so that I may purchase engaging lessons for this novel, as well as to supplement our social studies unit.
Finally, I am asking for a class set of Time for Kids. There is a lot going on in the world right now, and I want my students to read a discuss current events presented to them in an engaging and age appropriate way. Time for Kids also comes with lessons, activities, and a digital component.
