My students need Chromebooks to support our work in the literacy classroom. Students often work in stations with the aid of a paraprofessional or a special educator.
My 7th and 8th-grade students are the BEST! They are beginning to form commanding identities and question EVERYTHING about the world and how they fit into it now, and how they will fit into it in the future.
Our school is located in Southwest Baltimore, an area of the city known more for its high drug use and crime statistics, than its student reading data and achievement.
With your help, we plan to change that! My students love to read and we can not wait to get our hands on Scholastic magazines next year! The magazine has an online component, this is why we need your support!
My Project
We have both a vocabulary program and Scholastic Magazines which require access to online resources to be fully implemented, and for my students to receive the complete benefit. Our school doesn't currently have enough resources to go around as we have recently suffered several break-ins which resulted in the loss of many of our student iPads.
All I want is for my students to have access to the same level of academic possibilities as their peers from wealthier school districts.
Having Chromebooks that are stationed in my literacy classroom 100% of the time is a step in the right direction for my students.
