This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Working at a title 1 school is difficult enough and my kids aren't ignorant to the challenges we teachers face when teaching them. We're a small school and I want the students to feel special. With these books my kids will have an opportunity to get excited about a new approach to learning and will see that I want to "mix things up."
The kids need to know that reading can be enjoyable, educational, and more than anything that their school is willing to support and provide for them.
I feel I am an enthusiastic teacher and it's unfortunate to see that many of the kids are jaded and disinterested in school. If I could wave a magic wand to fix that I would but I suppose this will have to do. Thank you.
