Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I get the opportunity every day to teach 10 awesome children! Now I didn’t say it’s easy; but it’s what I love to do.
My classroom is safe environment for children with Autism in Kindergarten - 2nd grade, where I make rigorous but exciting lessons to spark their interests and make learning fun.
It is my responsibility to teach my students using technology and hands on materials so they can have equal access to a proper education. My goal is to teach my students that they may not be perfect but they are awesome!
My Project
My students love when I read books to them. After I have read a story they try everyday to read the story again independently or browse the pictures retelling the story in their own words. My students love for literature is emerging as they are gaining a better understanding of phonics.
These kits will give them the hands-on practice they need to become fluent readers.
The phonics games help my students blend sounds and read Cvc words. These foundational skills are very important in the first years of school to ensure success in reading.
My students will fall in love with reading even more when they use the Fairy Tales STEAM Kit. I will be able to combine classic stories with hands-on STEM and literacy activities that my students are sure to love! As we read the stories, they can animate the puppets, answer questions and complete each STEM challenge, where they’ll build critical language and literacy skills, boost creative expression, master early engineering concepts.
