Help me give my students a new library that will allow them to be comfortable and excited about literacy. Help me equip my class with learning material that will maximize learning.
My students are students who will be experiencing formal education for the first time. They are inquisitive about the learning environment and are anxious to see what happens in this big school building.
Many of my students have not been exposed to books, read aloud, writing, print or a structured settings/ learning environment.
This makes me eager to provide them with their first school experience. My students find that they love books, reading, writing, and learning.
What I love most about my students is their natural proclivity to learn, investigate and explore. They enter preschool not knowing what to expect, they have a bit of anxiety about leaving their parents and spending their day with a "teacher" Nevertheless they are ready to learn.
My Project
The literacy environment runs the gamut of the preschool day. Each day my preschool students will spend 7 hours of their day at school. Creating an inviting well-equipped literacy environment that is comfortable and enticing will encourage my students to explore the library, be exposed to a rich literacy environment and simply fall in love with books.
The calming carpet and chairs will allow students a comfortable space to explore books.
The book bins and writing caddies will allow my students to properly use the library. The art material will allow my students to display their creativity. My preschool students are going to receive all the precursory skills to be great readers!
