My Students
My students are the entirety of our school. I serve all the students at our school in the discipline of science. My students come to me ready to learn, explore, and experiment to become critical thinkers.
Part of my school is Title I, which means they come from high poverty situations and may not have access to materials and resources at home.
Part of my school is Magnet, which means their parents may not live close by but have chosen to send their child here because of the opportunities and experiences they can be a part of at our school.
My Project
Have you ever tried to visualize something in your head or looked at a picture in a book, but just couldn't quite picture it well? Well, if my students had a life-size model of the human skeleton, all guesswork would be eliminated! They would be able to look at the bones and see how they attach to the others. They would be able to feel and move the bones they way their bones move.
My students would gain a deeper understanding of how their skeletal system works.
And who knows, this may spark a desire in one or more of them to pursue a career in medicine!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
