My Project

I wanted to share an idea that I believe could bring both educational and practical benefits to our campus: a student-run chicken coop.

A project like this would offer hands-on learning opportunities across multiple areas—science, agriculture, sustainability, and even business or economics if students sell eggs or compost.

Beyond academics, it can also help students develop responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

I also think this could be a great opportunity for our life skills students to participate. Tasks like feeding, collecting eggs, cleaning, and caring for the chickens are excellent for building routine, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment. It’s an inclusive way to get all students involved in something meaningful and tangible.
