Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Not only am I a math teacher on campus, I am the sponsor for our Student Leadership Group. We have sat and brainstormed different ways that we can celebrate all students on campus, and with the help of these materials we will be able to do so. This year our theme is the "Keys for Success". Our four keys for success are Content, Creativity, Consistency and Connections.
We felt as though students should be celebrated for exemplifying our "Keys for Success" here at our academy.
The student leadership team will design a button for each "Key for Success" (Content, Creativity, Consistency, and Connections). After designing the buttons, we will as a team make the buttons using the button machine and materials requested in this project. Once the buttons are made, we will deliver them to teachers to hand out to students who exemplify a "Key for Success" in their classroom.
We thought a little token to show that teachers are noticing their efforts in the classroom would be appreciated by students. The initiative would also motivate other students to excel and aim to get one of the buttons. We just want to celebrate our students in a different way, and with the help of the materials in this project we can do so.
