This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what your favorite book in elementary school was? If you do, it's because it was either really good or for the simple fact that you could read it. My students need those really good books at levels they can read!
My fourth and fifth grade students are primarily second language children living in poverty.
The key to their future is BOOKS! The ability to read, read well, and read lots will get them far and eventually take them on to great things and places. These children come to school wanting to learn and to be successful. Great books motivate them to read, increase their interest and comprehension, and help them improve their reading skills. We need a bigger and better collection of books for students to read in our classroom.
My Project
The variety of books that the students in my class will be able to use from this project will not only motivate them to read more but will also help them improve their reading ability. I have chosen a variety of authors, genres, and levels so that every student can read and feel successful. I strongly believe that reading is an essential skill to a successful future.
Your donation to this project will help my second language students have a variety of great books to choose from that will motivate them to read and help them experience success in reading.
