it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Technology and Innovation has shaped the universe in many ways from before. The classroom is no exception. Tools teachers are now able to use to help students in the classroom have evolved. Technology is one big resource teachers are now able to utilize in the classroom. What has been a big need in my classroom are headphones.
Headphones now have the ability to help students battle through language barriers as well as other challenges they may face during reading and listening.
With exams such as the STAAR test and TELPAS in Texas, there is a tool called text-to-speech which are given to specific students to succeed but they need headphones to cancel the distraction of noise in the classroom. I want to be able to provide that tool to students during exams in class as well as the reading assignments I assign in class. What I will also be able to do with the headphones in class is give videos as individual or independent work. There are a ton of videos online in science where I am able to show the students to get a deeper understanding of topics. Many students also love videos to supplement their learning in class. With the pandemic, videos are also a big help in getting the materials students need if they have to stay home and miss school.
