The Key to Reading Success: Books!

My students need lots of great books so they can practice their reading to become stronger readers! Having a well-stocked classroom library full of exciting beginner chapter books will motivate them to read each day!

My Students

My students are eager 6 and 7 year olds that are just entering the exciting world of reading! First grade is a very exciting year for children when their enthusiasm and interest in independent reading really takes off!

My classroom is a fun, vibrant place where children make huge gains in their reading and writing development throughout the year!

Our school is a fantastic place where the students meet everyday to learn with and from one another! My students work hard every day at school to become better readers...providing the classroom resources to help them strengthen their skills provides endless benefits!

My Project

The beginner chapter books I've requested for this project are filled with favorite characters that first graders LOVE! An expanded library in our classroom will allow these books to be read by many students and be kept in the reading boxes that first graders use each day! Classroom library baskets will be spread out around our entire classroom to showcase the importance of reading!

The best way for children to become better readers is to practice, practice, PRACTICE!

An abundant classroom library will not only encourage students to choose books they enjoy, but will also motivate them to read other books in the same series.
