Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is full of so many enthusiastic students that are ready to learn every day. My 4th grade students come from low incomes areas. These students receive free breakfast and lunch every day. In addition to our free meal program, our school also provides free uniforms and backpacks full of school supplies. Many of our students are in difficult living arrangements so as a school we pride ourselves on being able to help them in various ways.
A majority of my students face many hardships in their everyday lives, so when they come to school it is a safe outlet for them.
My students come to school eager to learn and ready to do their very best. My students have adapted to new forms of learning and they have learned from one another by participating in collaborative work. These students are willing and ready to start their pathway to higher education.
My Project
As educators navigate the unchartered waters of blended learning and technology, our students are presented with many hurdles themselves. When working with an IPad, it can be very challenging to use the touchscreen feature to type assignments.
By providing my students with keyboards for their IPads, it will help alleviate the frustration the students experience when it comes to typing.
These keyboards will not only help my students during the school day, but they can be used at home during remote instruction as well. When we are in the classroom the use of the stylist pens will also help those students who are not familiar with using a keyboard.
During this unprecedented time, it is important that my students feel safe in the classroom. Having an air purifier will ensure us all that we are keeping the air around us as clean as possible. This school year will be one of the most challenging years for a teacher as well as students; donating to this project can make a huge difference in the world of blended learning for my students.
