My Students

I am a teacher who just moved to the Island of Hawaii! I got a job for the public school district and I am finding getting my hands on materials is somewhat of a challenge. When I left my Montana school I left them all of my materials (from 10 years of teaching). I did this because it was difficult to move my classroom and my household goods in one container. I am now a resource teacher who services the whole school (K-5) one class at a time. I see 876 students every 1 week. More than half of my students are from low‑income households. I would love to provide an atmosphere that fosters excitement paired with learning.

---- My students are all awesome individuals.

They are definite rock star students with individual needs and understanding. ---

My inclusive classroom (which is a general education classroom where students with and without disabilities learn together) is somewhat bare and could use a couple of flexible seating options, a story time& white board carpet, and some alphabet manipulative letters. Join me in making a great learning space for these

My Project

My new position this year allows me to teach 876 students on a weekly basis. We are setting up this classroom to service all of these marvelous students. Currently the room allows very few options for those students who can not sit still for the entire block. For these students I am asking for two wobble chairs, so that they can "wobble" instead of sit still. These students are better able to focus when they are moving and shaking! For the K-2nd graders we do white board time and story time. We like to have the students sit on the floor for these activities. I do not currently have a classroom rug in my new room. This would help greatly; as it has 30 blocks- one block for each student to sit on. Finally, I am asking for three sets of A-Z magnetic letters. We will use these to do build a word, find a letter and what is that sound game, to name a few. Being able to have them stick to the front white board is invaluable for their learning. Thank you so much for your generosity! It takes several small pieces to make a puzzle! Thanks for your Piece!
