Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are an enthusiastic, imaginative group of second graders. They are living in an inner-city community. Part of the time they will be learning remotely. It has been an upsetting and confusing year for these little people.
Many of my students are living in shelters.
Some are English Language Learners and others have an Individualized Educational Plans. Most face challenges both inside and outside of school on a daily basis. Despite these challenges, they love learning. They work hard every day in school and at home. They go to school and also learn from home remotely. They have goals and are working hard to achieve them.
My Project
I am requesting a magnetic whiteboard and a variety of books. This project will enhance my students' love of reading. There are so many exceptional titles to read aloud to my students. Due to Covid, I do not have access to libraries in my town, or even my school library.
These books will bring joy to my remote classroom.
I cannot wait to share these with my students. I have 68 students that I currently teach and these resources will make all the difference. The whiteboard will help me present material from my home that will help my students have clarity on new concepts that are being presented.
