The Joy of Reading

Help me give my students comfy pillows and cozy lighting as well as many excellent read-aloud picture books to help them find the joy in reading.

My Students

In our Kindergarten classrooms in Eastlake, Ohio, our kiddos are lucky enough to be in a wonderful building where collaborative learning is something we do daily. The open spaces and state-of-the-art classrooms lend themselves to creating life-long learners.

What I love most about my students is their excitement and love for learning.

They see the ​joy in every day at school. Our school may be big, but it is also close-knit; like a family, and we want to make sure our students continue to love, enjoy, and find excitement in every school day.

Although our school provides excellent opportunities for all students, I want to make sure my Kindergartners have everything AND MORE for an amazing first year of school.

My Project

I am asking for materials to make the reading "nook" extra special and cozy, like throw pillows and soft lighting. I also want to have many great picture books to read to my class as a whole group. Each book chosen is relevant and educational and teaches a great lesson. They are from amazing authors as well.

I feel that each of these materials will help my little ones feel special in their first year of school, and hopefully find the joy in reading!

With special reading-buddy stuffed animals and comfy pillows to lounge on, these Kindergartners are sure to love visiting the reading center!
