This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students and I have been together for three years. We first meet in Kindergarten and now we are entering our third and final year looping. My students are funny, creative, kind and asked many questions. Since we are looping into a new grade level we are in need of 2nd grade math materials. It is quiet amazing to see the growth and process so many students have made over the last two years. I want my 2nd grade students to be able to find joy in Math!
I believe having good hands on materials, place value blocks, hands-on subtracting and addition kits during our math block will allow my students to succeeded in understanding mathematical concepts that are critical to learn in 2nd grade.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
