My Students
My wonderful 4th-grade students come from very diverse backgrounds. The one thing they have in common is their joy for learning. They are eager to learn and look for ways to do stay engaged. My students are curious about the world and want to learn more.
My students face many challenges while learning from home.
They need hands on math and reading activities to help them grow. There are so many different learning styles. It is important to support all of these in an effort to reach those struggling students.
My Project
These materials will be used to encourage my students to discover the joy of getting lost in a good book. They will be able to read these books at school and at home. I believe these books will inspire them to share what they are learning with others. When they find a story that interests them, they will be able to take the book home and read it to other family members.
Do you remember the excitement you experienced as a child when you heard a good story?
Hopefully, you do. I will also be able to read these stories aloud in the classroom. My students will be able to experience the same excitement you felt as a child. Reading aloud to students encourages them to read on their own. All children love to listen to good stories.
Many of the books included in this project are non-fiction. This will allow them to learn facts about our world using colorful picture books.
