My students are special in their own way because they bring a light into the classroom that brightens the lives of not only myself, but their peers as well. My students come from different cultures and ethnicities. I try to teach the value of respect and how to be a team no matter the background. These students come from urban areas that had lead in the water, being with these students you can see how the water can affect their minds depending on their circumstance and hardships.
EDUCATION IS THE FOUNDATION OF LIFE!
I want to be able to help push these students to the next level. I want to be able to give them opportunities they have not seen and teach them important values that will guide them to being successful even at an early age. The culture in the school is great! Students want to come to school and love learning! I want to be able to keep that mindset and help them be future leaders of tomorrow.
My Project
These materials will help make this project a success because they will be geared towards my centers and helping with transition of how to read and write within the school year. I will need these resources to build fluency and to help build phonemic awareness to the classroom.
The small group teaching easel can help me during word work time period to help scholars who might need additional assistance with how to build words and understanding sounds.
The word family flip books are good to help build fluency. The help yourself books are geared towards my centers for guided reading to use as a station for quiet time. The giant beads and patterns are to help build fine motor skills and the three letter building puzzles are to help build cognition skills as well as being able to sound out letters in a fun way. Lastly, the storage boxes can help keep the classroom organized and help centers stay in one place.
I want this project to help build phonemic awareness and fluency. I want to help build sentence formation and sounding out words to help my classroom succeed and be able to help connect with common core standards. I want to make reading fun for the students and help them be excited to read because of the different backgrounds they live in.
