This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'm an 8th grade science teacher in the Arts and Technology Magnet program. We are in a large, urban, Title I middle school that has limited resources for purchasing science materials for students. My students come from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds, from a variety of cultures, and are gifted, highly-engaged critical thinkers.

Having an iPad to use during instruction will ensure that students stay engaged with the lesson even when their teacher is walking around the classroom, providing immediate feedback.

When providing small group instruction, I can use online simulations like Gizmos table side with students. The ability to AirPlay will also allow for easy transitions between small groups to whole class instructions. Other features of the iPad will also help in delivering creative and effective science instruction.
