Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students will be a group of third-graders, most of whom were taught remotely last year. They live in an inner-city community. More than 90 percent receive free lunch.
Because of this pandemic, it has been and continues to be an upsetting and confusing year for these little people.
Many of my students are living in shelters. Some are English Language Learners and others have Individualized Educational Plans. Most face challenges both inside and outside of school on a daily basis. Despite these challenges, they are optimistic, hoping for a great school year. Last year, they worked hard every day either at school and at home. They have goals and are working hard to achieve them. They are looking forward to a good and safe school year.
My Project
Donors have provided my classes with an amazing printer that is used daily. The ink lasts for the entire year and enables my students to get copies of important curriculum materials.
Once again the Ink Has Run Dry.
It would be so helpful to start the school year, with this printer up and running. It has made and will continue to make such a difference in engaging and educating my students.
Students will be able to publish and print their work. They will be able to get hard copies of materials that they are using in their research. I could distribute other materials that would supplement their learning.
