Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I want my students to have the immersive experience of a Spanish classroom that goes beyond textbook learning. This requires supplies that we are simply not equipped with at my school.
These resources are essential.
The maps will help students understand the context of their work; colored pencils and markers will allow students to make projects that extend beyond the pages of their text books. I have also asked for Spanish language books that will truly create an immersive, bilingual experience.
I want to include hands-on projects that will allow students to learn in ways that meet their diverse needs. At the arts school where I teach, students come from all over the city and have so many different backgrounds and strengths. They learn in different ways; I need these resources to meet these unique learning modalities.
