This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This is a multi part project. We have students who speak little English and we want to practice reading, writing, listening and speaking with them by creating a puppet show of The Hungry Little Caterpillar.
They will need to read the book then they will modify the book into a play.
They will also be able to listen to the book when I record it for them. They will use the ear buds to record their part and then listen to themselves.
These meetings will be an after school activity so we would like to make sure we have full bellies and hydrated bodies to have focused students. We will need snacks to fill those bellies so cookies and crackers seem like a good choice for a quick snack.
We have been maintaining a healthy environment with making sure we clean desks and doorknobs etc, as well as keep extra air purifiers in the room.
I have done this puppet show many years ago and it proved to be a huge success in the improvement of my EL students’ learning. It was also a huge success for entertaining the rest of the school.
