My Project
My sixth graders are amazing students and are learning all about ancient Mesopotamia. My students need to experience some hands on learning, but supplies can be limited and the extra money to do these creative activities falls on the teacher a lot of the time.
This project is a great way for my students to use the information they have learned about Mesopotamia, Hammurabi's code and the Sumerians to create clay cuneiforms using plastic sculpting tools.
The students will use the Sumerian alphabet to write their names on the cuneiforms as well as create a key with symbols to write and decipher on their own clay tablets.
