This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a "techie" and my goal is to make my students technology masterminds! Coming into a tech classroom in a low income school means most of the students do not have the technology at home but are enthusiastic to learn about it in class.
I teach reading and language arts to two groups of energetic and enthusiastic third grade students.
We are a title 1 school meaning most of our students are low income and their first language is a language other than English. I also teach ESL students (English as a Second Language). The students will learn English in my class. Many of my students come in below level and it is our goal to bridge the gap. Please join us in the HMF train!
My Project
We need it to be Hot Hot Hot in the classroom with the Fancierstudio Heat Press! Right now our class uses a iron to get our shirts and projects done and often times it is not hot enough to get the job done.
Our classroom project will consist of my third grade students to incorporate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) components to create a classroom shirt.
My students will be able to design their own logo based on what they learn in class. This will be an ongoing project as this will open up the doors to use them throughout the year. Our first heat press project will consist of the students creating a classroom logo where they can incorporate what they will be learning throughout the school year.
They will use technology and art to design the logo. Once we have our class logo, the Fancierstudio heat press will allow the shirts to be pressed correctly without the struggle of an iron.
